The simple wedge design holds the lever tight inside the aerobar as it locks the brake cable housing tightly in place, and the anatomic design gives you maximum braking at your fingertips. To assist with those tight housing routings that can happen with some internal cable routings, the lever has an assist spring to ensure against brake drag.
