The Easton EC70 Zero Bicycle Seatpost utilizes the same overall monocoque carbon
construction as the EC90, but with an aluminum upper clamp. This low-profile,
micro-adjusting clamp allows easy adjustment and optimal saddle clearance. By
incorporating RAD™ Relief-Area Design and TaperWall™ technology, the EC70 has
been intelligently designed to distribute stress along the length of the post.
Easton also removed material in critical clamp zones to prevent pinching the
carbon (which can sacrifice durability).
RELIEF AREA DESIGN (RAD)
Defined: A flat spot running the length of Easton steer tubes and seat posts,
corresponding with the clamp zone of stems and seatpost clamps. Removing
material in these critical zones prevents clamping forces from pinching and
damaging carbon tubing.

TaperWall technology infuses Easton tubing with the unique performance

Computer-modulated draw benches allow Easton to create multiple tapers in the
same tube, so the tube walls can be reinforced anywhere along their length with
incredible precision. The result is jeweler-smooth walls that eliminate the
